Updates . . .

An "artist style" kitchen is colorful
with all the modern conveniences.
We love the oak floors which are original
to the house but have been
completely refinished.

The large master suite completes a simplistic
look and style with form and function.
This includes built in drawers utilizing space
under the stairway, custom book shelves and
a fully functional window seat complete
with 3 large pull out drawers with hand
crafted seat cushions.

The living room provide winter warmth with a fully functional fireplace, with insert, for maximum comfort. Through the living area, leads way to the entry door  and front porch,
along with the newly renovated first floor,
3 piece bathroom. Granite
counter tops and a custom
cherry  vanity with
high end sink and boutique hardware create an intimate
space.  Glass shower doors and a full shower work well for everyone including your most discerning guests. Each detail of this renovation was intricately
thought out to provide complete  privacy and comfort.

All mechanics are completely and thoroughly upgraded to the high standards. New furnace, roof, 200 amp electrical and update plumbing provide safe and secure, year round living.

Updates on House for Sale

I cannot believe all that has transpired in the world around us since I last posted on this blog. In July 2010 Random Arts had already closed it's doors on Main Street in Saluda and I was beginning to feel "homeless" in the mixed media art community. By the time December rolled around both of us were getting anxious for Random Arts to move out of the temporary building and into a place of it's own.

Thanks to a good friend of ours, who happened to stop by in December 2010 to have some custom work done for his business, a spark was ignited. So the journey began right then and there.

By June of 2011 that property, first researched and seen that past December became the new home for Random Arts. Not quite ready to be open, our long days of nothing but painting and construction began. By Sept, Random ARTs was ready to move into it's new nest. With that being said, I forgot to mention that the building was/is an old 1920's house in a commercial location in Saluda. We both passed by this house at least 6 times a day for 17 years and never, ever thought it could be, or would be ours.

What does all this have to do with our house, that we have lived in for 18 yrs?
It's simple. The Random Arts property has private living quarters in the back that was a great new addition put on in 2001. Only 10 yrs old and perfect for us to downsize and "live, work and play" in Saluda.

That means that it's time to look seriously to sell our precious little craftsman style bungalow located just 1 mile from town. Since the market has changed significantly in the past 2 years we are looking for offers to help make our dream house become yours.
I would be happy to answer any questions about our house and right now with spring settling in nicely, this is the best time of year to come see why Saluda beckons you to come north and enjoy our little town.

Dreaming of living in the mountains?

Your dreams could become a reality........ and we have the perfect dream house for you. Did I mention in earlier posts that we have a master suite complete with custom made window seat and bookcases? Did I mention a Porcher whirlpool tub, skylights, speakers in the ceiling of the master bathroom, custom closets, french doors, built in custom made drawers in bedroom, heated ceramic tile floors, custom vanity, separate shower, Marvin windows? Yes, it's all true. But there is more - original red oak floors throughout the entire house. Five panel original doors throughout, original door hardware, french doors separating dining room and living room, and a fireplace with an insert and a custom built mantel and fireplace surround. Our fireplace has kept us warm many a night when we wanted a little extra warmth and the glow of the burning embers and the scent of the logs. hmmmm... I am yearning for winter to see that fire again. Well maybe not today on this cool summer evening but eventually when summer turns to crisp fall days, it "may" enter my mind, but until then we will continue to enjoy our little piece of paradise right here in the mountains of north carolina.

Check out the new photos of our house

Updates on our house for sale

Improvements continue on renovating our
second full bath on the first floor.
It has taken longer than we expected but when it is done you
will see one spectacular space. We have chosen granite counter
tops, vessel sink, full size shower, ceramic tile floors,
high end chrome fixtures including the "on/off" levers
under the cherry wood floating vanity.
This will be so nice that I won't want to move.
Where will I find a place this beautiful?

Along with the reno of the bathroom we completely reconstructed the steps leading to the upstairs with new oak treads stained and painted and removed a door that used to close off the upstairs. It opens wide now and there are no squeaky steps anymore. So awesome.

After our trip to Costa Rica, who know?
we might want to move there.
Any buyers out there?

Winter Beauty in Saluda

If you are looking for a "change of seasons" here in North Carolina,
Saluda is the place to be. Just a little of this and a little of that creates
a pleasant mix that seems to be the perfect climate for a happy
existence.
Spring comes early to the mountains...

Followed by a sunny days and cool mountain evenings...

Just when you thought summer was here to stay the
leaves start to change into bright vivid colors of rusts, crimson & ochres...

Poooooof! A dusting of snow and winter appears.
